In 1984 Birmingham AYM supported the strike of workers at the Kewal Brothers clothing factory after three TGWU members were sacked in an attempt to break trade union organisation in the factory. The factory employed mainly Asian men and women who struck in support of their fellow workers and for the right to a living wage with safe working conditions.
